Our New Blog

Hello everyone!

I figured I should start journaling again so our friends and family will be able to check in on us whenever they want. So, here we are! Back on the blog-train. If you haven't kept track, here's an up-to-date update. We got married in July of 2007, and Bobby promptly began working for the City Of Fort Worth the week after. He moved in with my parents for over 5 months, while I finished up my coursework at school for the fall semester. In December, we found an apartment in north Fort Worth and we LOVE it! I started student teaching in elementary music and middle school choir. Bobby graduated from his academy in mid-February, and is very close to finishing his on-the-job training with another officer. In May, everyone packed up and traveled to good old Abilene for my college graduation, and now I'm patiently waiting for job openings in my first choice school district (pray for good news soon!).

Our two dogs, Maggie (a 2 year old temperamental dachshund) and Maestro (an 8 month old teething Yorkshire terrier), keep us busy in our time off. Maestro has one puppy canine tooth left, and boy is it making him crazy! Its getting more and more loose everyday, so I don't think we'll need to have it pulled. I can't wait for it to be out! Maybe he'll settle down some. As for Maggie, she still acts like Bobby is God and I'm the wicked step-mother. That's what I get for setting up strict discipline for a timid dog. She's been having sick-fits lately, (I'm convinced its her way of saying, "You think you can leave me home for a long time? I'll show you...") and nearly threw up on Bobby's foot the other day while he was cleaning up another of her messes. I couldn't help but chuckle a little, as he nearly jumped across the room to avoid it.

I still have two more weeks of student teaching "for fun" (I'm finished, but my last school still has some shows and contests that they need me for) and then I'm going to try and get a summer job to make up for paying to work this past semester (believe it or not, student teaching is considered enough work for 6 hours of school credit...even though I worked about 45 hours a week for -$2500). Bobby is still loving his job, and I'm hoping we will be able to stay in this area for quite some time.

  1. Congrats on all your successes and your marriage.

I'm getting married on June 29th, which is very close! So much left to do, I bet you don't miss that part of it!

Anyway, I'm on blogspot as well as my old LJ now. Here at blogspot I actually plan on writing articles about financial topics, game reviews (as I'm a bit of an xbox junkie sometimes), and some of the online applications I discover and want to share. I'm thinking that I'll probably not write personal blogs anymore. Anyway, stop by from time to time.

I'm adding your blog to Google Reader. You should think about using feedburner. It keeps nice little stats on how many people subscribe to your blog, and even how many people visit it. I may write an article on it soon if you're interested...or you could figure it out for yourself.
