Found one!

Target saved my life today. I was driving around hoping to find a new planner and expected to reluctantly settle for one that starts in August (I just KNEW it was inevitable...and that it would be impossible to find another planner as perfect as my last one was). Then I saw a sign for Target.

Now, I'm not a huge Target shopper... most of the time, I forget all about it. But today, it was a beacon of hope. I went in and immediately found the dollar deal aisles stocked full of teacher stuff, like wooden bathroom passes and stickers...you know, all the stuff teachers go nuts over. At this point, there was no turning back. They had hooked me in. After I had collected enough of that stuff in my trusty basket, I wandered over to the office supply aisle and found....

Balloons?

Ok, we'll keep going. Maybe they marked it wrong.

I walked THREE aisles over, defeated, and lo-and-behold, right smack in the middle of the row sat a stack of BlueSky planners in all of their multi-colored glory. I looked at each and every one of those wonderful planners, inspecting them and comparing them...I knocked it down to three---yes THREE--options and finally chose the slate blue one.

It's even more perfect than last year's planner. I've labled and color-coded all of my school events/holidays/in-service/TAKS days with my trusty highlighters and mini-ruler. I've written in all of my trips and conventions. I even added a few important dates, like birthdays and anniversaries. I can open it up and see exactly which important things need to be taken care of this week.

I'm on schedule again, and it's everything I thought it would be.

Conclusion:
In what seemed a disparate attempt to get my life back in order with a sub-par organizational strategy, I managed to follow the signs (literally) to an unexpected place and found not only exactly what I was looking for, but several different options from which I could choose my favorite. Organization AND variety, at a reasonable price. Thank you, Target. Today, you were "spot on."
