I have nothing extremely interesting to say seeing as this is my 11th straight day being stuck inside, but I'll do my best not to ramble too much. I did venture out into the world today. I made a quick trip to Joann Fabric/Crafts and dropped a few $10 bills... autumn is so wonderful because everything turns ORANGE and that just so happens to be my very favorite color. I bought a bunch of orangey sunflowers and "foliage" for my classroom to liven it up a bit. I had intended to buy some air-purifying ferns or something but realized that soil and moisture can cause mold (which causes me to have asthma attacks) so I settled for the fake ones. I already had some pots, and I will say, I should have purchased fake plants sooner! Just adding a few flowers and greenery to my poster-covered room made it seem SO much more homey. Silly HGTV and saying fake plants are tacky... If it weren't for the stale white tile, beige walls, and infestation of dust and germs, I would totally bring in a few cooshy chairs and snuggle up with a good book.
I do hope the custodians make time to clean my room now though... apparently I'm the last room on the rotation in the mornings and sometimes they "just don't have time to clean it." Yikes! I see every single kid twice a week in that room, and while 15 kids can mess up a homeroom classroom, 460 can do much more germy damage. But enough about that...
As far as the diet goes, I've been off of it for the past week or so. MediFast is going to be upset with me, but those steroids and antibiotics really messed up my appetite and I did well to eat a grilled cheese sandwich and a bowl of chicken noodle soup without wanting to toss my cookies, so diet food really wasn't a high priority for me. On the other hand, I'm down to a solid 150 lbs. which makes me 27 pounds lighter than I was in April. I officially have zero work clothes that fit me (seriously, I've been over 165 for the better part of 3 years... my skinny clothes are long gone, thank you very much Goodwill.) and I have one whole pair of jeans that sort of fit. They're baggy, but they don't fall off or sag like the others. Hmm....I wonder if my principal would let me wear jeans to work if that's the only thing that fits? I'd go buy new clothes, but I still have 15 pounds to lose by the end of the month and that's easily two more pant-sizes. Although, I heard somewhere that Steinmart is doing an exchange thing with "gently used clothing" so that might be another idea. Spend a little now, give it back for a discount... it's worth looking into.
I think that's all for now. I'll go back to my spot on the couch to rest and wait for Bobby to get home. Maybe I'll type up my lesson plans... eh, we'll see. =)
