I'm terribly sorry for not writing more often, but we've either been too busy or not busy at all... Here's what's happened since my birthday...
We hosted our first Thanksgiving at our new house. It was rather successful--even with a 2 year old in tow. (No, he wasn't ours... a family friend's grandson).
The beginning of December brought crazy weather, bad allergies, and news that I *might* have to switch schools at semester... still no more word on that, and we have 2 weeks left. Hah.
I had a high school choir reunion right before break started... it was just as weird as I thought it would be! Reunions are always meant to be awkward, I think. We had fun though, despite the almost decade of a gap since we've all been in the same room. I started off the rehearsals with a defective folder which jump started my OCD. As I was on the verge of freaking out because I only had 4 pieces of music, one of my friends says, "Oh come on Katie. You've probably still got all the songs memorized anyway!" It was funny until I realized she was right... but anyway...I have a nice 26 minute CD to go along with it. Shortest choir concert ever.
I'm toying with the idea of getting my masters degree. It'll be a while until I make a final decision because there are a boat load of factors that have to come together for it to work. (i.e. what school, how much, which plan (conducting, performance, ed?), which ensembles, what schedule, should I work full time, part time, or live off student loans, etc.) Besides, if I stay where I am, it really won't help me much to have my masters unless I want to leave, and I don't want to make that decision yet either.
Christmas was a 4-day affair. We went to Bobby's parents' house the Monday and Tuesday before, then came home for a Christmas with my parents on Wednesday, and on Thursday we were supposed to meet some family friends for our traditional "Christmas Eve dinner" BUT for the first time since 1926 it SNOWED...and snowed... and snowed... and then the snow compacted on the roads and turned into ice. I ended up getting "stuck" at my parents' house while Bobby had to make his way home from work on icy streets. Not my ideal first Christmas in our new home, but you can't win them all, right?
New Years was rather modest. We stayed home and played our new games until 11:00 when my brain shut down (yes, like a computer) then I took a nap while Bobby watched Family Guy until about 5-till. We watched the ball drop and went to bed.
And now you're up to date. =)
